Kids have Stress Too!


All children will experience stress and anxiety at times throughout their lives. The Kids Have Stress Too program developed by the Psychology Foundation of Canada is designed to give caregivers the tools they need to understand children’s stress and promote the development of effective stress management skills and resiliency from a young age. Participants will leave the program with practical child-friendly stress management strategies than can be introduced immediately to positively impact children’s social and emotional development.

Triple P Discussion Group- Dealing with Disobedience


This workshop will provide examples of common forms of disobedience and some reasons why children don’t do as their told. A number of positive parenting strategies are then introduced to help parents develop a personal plan to prevent disobedience, teach their child limits, and also to manage disobedience when necessary.This program is aimed at parents of children birth to 12 years, although many of the techniques are recommended from age 2 and up. Handle with Care - Zoom


Did you know that supporting your child's social-emotional development when they are young is one of the best investments you can make in their future? Triple P Discussion Group- Managing Fighting and Aggression


- This workshop will encourage parents to share their experiences of dealing with aggressive and destructive behavior, and discuss some of the reasons children fight. It covers the skills that children need to be able to cooperate and get along with others. It then introduces positive parenting strategies to help prevent problems by teaching children to play nicely and resolve problems, deal with sibling conflict, and also to manage those times when children lose their temper and fight or refuse to share, or become aggressive or destructive.This program is aimed at parents of children birth to 12 years, although many of the techniques are recommended from age 2 and up. Triple P Discussion Group- Hassle Free Shopping with Children


This workshop will use shopping trips as an example of one of the most common times parents have to deal with difficult behavior in public. It allows parents to discuss the kinds of problems they have faced, and introduces some parent traps and reason why children misbehave on shopping trips. Positive parenting strategies are discussed as step-by-step suggestions about preventing problems and teaching children how to behave on shopping trips, and managing any problems that may happen while shopping and in other community settings. Overview of Attachment and the Impact of Trauma


This interactive program will provide an overview of attachment and the impact of trauma on brain development along with information about attachment styles. The significance of parent-child interactions in the early years and how to foster the interactions as children grow will be discussed. Trauma and Attachment


This course will give the participants a very good understanding of the impact “Trauma” has on children of all ages, and if left untreated, how trauma can impact their future as adults. Specifically, the course will take a look at the topic of “Adverse childhood experiences” (Also known as ACEs), and discuss how these experiences impact brain development and attachment styles. The course will also look at “Attachment” specifically and how crucial it is for the healthy development of our children. Throughout these discussions, the course will address how this knowledge impacts how we parent and how we should rethink various discipline techniques. Social Media Safety


In this presentation, participants will learn about different social media platforms children and youth are engaged in right now, how to monitor social media content and have conversations with their children about safety while using social media. The presentation aims to inform caregivers and adults of the trends in social media and also engage in discussions around caregiver responsibility and consent on content shared online.
